Why This Matters

Social Security is one of the few sources of retirement income that can last for the rest of your life and adjust for inflation.

Yet many women miss opportunities to maximize their benefits simply because they are unaware of the rules and strategies available.

Whether you are:

• Approaching retirement
• Divorced or widowed
• Planning on your own for the first time
• Or simply want to make better Social Security decisions

Understanding your options can make a meaningful difference in your long-term financial security.

What You Will Learn

During this educational workshop, you'll learn:

• How Social Security benefits are calculated
• How the timing of your decision affects lifetime income
• When delaying benefits may increase retirement income
• How spousal and divorced-spouse benefits work
• What widows need to know about survivor benefits
• How Social Security fits into a broader retirement income plan

Many people are surprised to learn they may be eligible for benefits they didn’t even know existed

Why This Workshop Is Especially Important for Women

Women often face unique challenges when planning for retirement.

On average:

• Women live longer than men
• Women often have lower lifetime earnings
• Women may spend time out of the workforce caregiving

Because of this, maximizing Social Security income can play an even more important role in long-term financial stability.
